Preseason Triathlon Training: Nutrition

Whether you eat to train or train to eat, your diet should be altered this time of year. Pack up the supplements, the gels, the bars, the powders. Eat real food. And eat less than you did a month ago. It’s that simple.

For most of us, the fall is a slightly slower time in our lives. The kids are in school, your race schedule is light, and you have less social obligations to attend. Use this time to build good habits in the kitchen and avoid supplements as they are not needed this time of year.
