This is the time of year when most athletes transition from winter speed (or base) training to peak training. For many athletes who have been dedication to strength training and yoga for triathletes, it is possible to make a relatively large jump in training miles. Yet the popular media would lead us to believe that if we violate the ten percent rule we’ll get hurt. This video explains why the “ten percent rule” is worthless for those of us with a dynamic training program that includes strength training, yoga, and various triathlon interval workouts for all three sports.
