It’s official. After five glorious year in The Twin Cities (of St. Paul and Minneapolis) I have moved to “the other Twin Cities” of Nevada City and Grass Valley, CA in the heart of Gold Country. A fellow yoga teacher from ParaYoga had suggested I check out this place in the early winter. After a visit this spring, that including an amazing group bike ride with the Gold Country Triathlon Club, I was sold. Moving to the area could come with mix blessings as a coach. I will be the only USA Triathlon coach in all of Nevada County, however the population is small (there are more people in Tri Club San Diego than the population of my entire town). However, we are a mighty bunch! And there is significant buzz in town around the local tri, the Barbara Schmidt Millar Triathlon (BSM tri).
The local swimming?
Above, the 800 meter option and, below, the 2700 meter option to swim at Scotts Flat Lake. Its no Lake Nokomis but it will have to do.
The trail running? I’m only an hour from the Western States 100. Enough said.
Clients across the country will continue to be served with their online training plans, Skype and Facetime and I’m looking forward to meeting more of my fellow Grass Valley triathletes!
This and all articles on the blog are penned by Coach Scott Beesley. Coach John Taipale will continue teaching all one-on-one work (i.e. run technique, swim lessons, strength training) for our Minneapolis clients.
