I have coached athletes throughout my adult life, from a youth summer swim team, to a U-13 club volleyball team, to a high school volleyball team. I became a certified indoor cycling coach in 2008, which inspired me to start up a small but mighty triathlon club in 2015-2016 in Hillsboro, Oregon.
I knew I wanted to coach endurance athletes soon after meeting my coach, mentor, friend and founder of Soles Inspired, Scott Beesley, in 2014. I found myself fascinated by the process and amazed at the gains I made under Scott’s guidance. That experience led me to becoming a certified triathlon, swimming and cycling coach.
Now, I am so grateful that I can share my passion for triathlon and endurance sport with other highly motivated, talented and driven athletes and guide them to achieve their performance goals.
I’m a lifetime athlete, starting from age 3 when my parents wisely enrolled me in gymnastics as an outlet for my inability to sit still. It was either that or tie me to the back of the car and drive around, making me run after it until I finally tired myself out (or so the story goes). As I grew up, I participated and found success in a variety of team sports – swimming, soccer, basketball, softball and volleyball.
I discovered triathlon in my early 30s and after a season or two, found myself on the podium at several local Olympic distance events. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was doing long course events and ultimately had a successful showing at Ironman Canada in 2015. I wrapped up my racing career focusing on Ironman 70.3 events and now race vicariously through my team of amazing athletes!
